About Catholic Protestant Bridge
Hi! Welcome!
A few years back I had a recurring dream that I discovered rooms in my house that I didn’t know existed. It was really cool to find them but it was also sad to think that they had been there all along and been unused.
I was reminded of those dreams when I discovered that the Christian faith has many rooms that I didn’t know existed. Rooms that are full of truth and beauty that Christ gave to all Christians.
Myths, legends and traditions of men closed the doors to those rooms and fractured Christendom.
This blog is dedicating to restoring the unity among Christians that was lost. How? By providing these things:
A gathering place to discuss the issues that have separated Protestants and Catholics.
An Anthology of the ‘best of the best’ information, answers to questions, videos, about the Christian Faith
Why is restoring unity important? Jesus prayed that we would be One. He asked the Father for us to ” be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
Let that sink in. Our unity shows the the world what? That God sent Jesus and that he loves them!
What, then does our disunity show the world? Divisions among Christians are a scandal to the One Christian faith. We are called to one faith with no divisions.
Division and Diversity Are Two Different Things
We are called to unity in what we believe. Being undivided in what we believe doesn’t mean Christians don’t have diversity. From the beginning, the one Church has been marked by a great diversity which comes from both the variety of God's gifts and the diversity of those who receive them. Within the unity of the People of God, a multiplicity of peoples and cultures is gathered together. Among the Church's members, there are different gifts, offices, conditions, and ways of life. The great richness of such diversity is not opposed to the Church's unity. -CCC
